If you want to compete in the cutthroat world of elite 400m running, you have to find a way to deliver. But when you’re also managing a day job for the world’s biggest parcel service, your task of succeeding on the biggest stage just gets that much harder.
That was the case of US 400m champion and 2025 World Athletics Championships favourite Jacory Patterson, whose journey to the elite of track & field included working the graveyard shift at United Parcel Service while training for international competitions.
