Edwin Kurgat, a Kenyan Olympic athlete, was King of the Hill and went on to win the Men’s Championship in the 89th running of the Manchester Road Race Thursday morning.
Kurgat’s official time was 20:54, which is a new course record.
Weini Kelati, a highly accomplished American long distance runner, earned her fifth consecutive win for the Women’s Championship and won the competition for Queen of the Hill. She ran an unofficial time of 23:16.
